-I am not Laila
Monologue/video - 6:45 minutes
I got very angry.
I locked the door and screamed in silence;

I shall never leave this place ever again!

this journey is paved above their fears,
my journey is paved with their fears,
this road is not meant for steps, it is simply... edible.

my parents are quiet oblivious when they tell me I can't take the shortcut to my grandma's house!

"the long road is long but it's safer"

I am a lazy millennial taking my body for granted...

my parents don't know that by passing their fears on to me, they also pass on their own traumas and traumas can't be doubled... have you tried?

they make me all ready for the world by making me fear it, they tell me to never trust anyone, as trust can never be through the shortcuts...
they say with a warm smirk;
the wolves are many,
the wolves are too many.

slowly I grow up and I begin to realize that I am becoming one of the wolves

I understand the wolves pain...
I understand that they were too unusual for people because of their hair, big teeth and their scary built.

See we are hairy cause we are not afraid of our bodies, we have big teeth because we chew on stones, and our bodies are the new beauty standards!

i understand that fear is like our family dinners, important for some and totally useless for others... I never liked fear next to my salad anyway,
have u tried!?

Time passes by, and we start hiding the fact that we are the wolves, because we don't want our parents to know, we start sugar coating our own wolves traumas so they don't worry about us, we become the ones telling all the white lies, and slowly we begin to question;

when they lied to us who were they protecting, us? or them?
